Duke and Unc In A World Of Their Own
I can see why Duke and UNC do not support expansion. This is all about football and money. Duke hasn't been good in football since......when they were Trinity College? Maybe they should let Coach K coach everything, atleast they know he can recruit. UNC's football program is on the rise, but expansion would not be good for them right now, they need to build up to a winning record overall and in the ACC and they would want expansion as much as they want Dean Smith back. Wake Forest and NC State are on the opposite side, and I myself, like this. Duke and UNC(the top 2 programs in NC over the last 20 years) might be outdone by the other half of the big four. It shows the tide is shifting, and that if Duke and UNC don't get on the ball, they wil be left behind.
But expansion isn't good for teams like GT, and CU. Who have never dominated the ACC like Duke, UNC, and even NC State. GT and CU are struggling to compete and have been for about 50 years, expansion is stabbing them right in the back. Add Miami and VT, and let NCSU, MD, UVA(all rising greatly in football) help the ACC become an all around powerhouse. Then just get the rule changed about the championship game, or better yet, we've beeen without a championship game for 50 years? why not 50 more?
Josh Powell
I respect Josh Powell as a player but right now thats about it. He had no business leaving NC State. He is killing Sendek, Sendek had an awesome team coming into this upcoming season. And by golly, he just went undrafted, why do you leave school early to go undrafted. The website www.nbadraft.net had Josh to go in the first awhile back, and slowly kept falling and falling. I really do feel sorry for JP, but I have this weird feeling that the Dallas Mavericks will pick him up. I think he went to a workout with them. That would be a great pickup for Dallas. They have a small team(like NCSU) and were awesome last year(maybe a sign for this upcoming year at NCSU). But good luck to Josh Powell wherever he goes.....
